What a weekend of footy!
One of the closest seasons on record deserves a blockbuster finish, and boy was it. The final game on Sunday had 3 team’s fate on the line for finals; Port Adelaide hoping to secure second spot on the ladder and a home game final this weekend, Freo were fighting for their spot in the 8 to have a chance of playing in September, and Carlton watched with baited breath to see if they will take Fremantle’s spot in the top 8.
The Power did what they needed to do, with a 20 point victory over the Dockers. There were plenty of moments across the four quarters, but Fremantle fumbled the ball and their finals chance.
Port Adelaide are now set to play the Cats at Adelaide Oval next Thursday night at 7:40pm to kick start their finals campaign. The entire fixture for next weekend are as follows:
THURSDAY: Second Qualifying Final
Port Adelaide vs Geelong at Adelaide Oval, 7:40pm
