It’s fair to say that the people behind our supermarkets at the moment have had quite enough of all the panic-buying.
And not only have people stripped the shelves bare of some essential items, some brazen customers are now trying to return some of the goods they over-stocked on in the first place.
Director of Drakes Supermarkets, John-Paul Drake is one of those people who has had enough.
In a YouTube video, Drake recounts his experience with a person trying to get a refund on what is, quite frankly, a ludicrous amount of toilet paper.
“I had my first customer yesterday who said he wanted to get a refund on 150 packets of 32 pack toilet paper and 150 units of 1 litre sanitiser,” Mr Drake says in the video.
“I told him ‘that’,” for those wondering, ‘that‘ was Drake holding his middle finger up to the camera.
Explaining the sheer scale of the panic-buying, Drake says: “We’ve sold 8 months of toilet paper in 4 weeks. We’ve sold a year’s supply of flour in 9 days. And we’re all in the same boat, it’s not one supermarket that’s missing out, it’s every single one.”
