Amber Lawrence has had 14 December firmly marked in her diary for months. Performing carols is something she looks forward to every year. “It’s fair to assume that someone who devoted an entire album to Christmas music is bound to love a full-blown Christmas event like Adelaide Carols. I adore it and am particularly excited about returning this year to help mark 80 years of such a great tradition,” said Amber.

Fellow country music star Adam Brand is taking to the Adelaide stage for his first time and is equally excited, sharing that he is “anticipating an amazing and beautiful night. I’m thrilled to be part of an incredible line-up; performing to and singing with the audience in Adelaide will be a festive highlight for me.”

As the proud custodians of Carols since 2022, St John Ambulance SA CEO Mark Groote says, “With every artist announcement my eagerness to stage our 80th event grows. And trust me, it was big to start with. Connecting with South Australians to celebrate is one of our very favourite things to do. To have not one but two of Australia’s beloved country stars grace our stage this year will be so special.”

St John Carols by Candlelight is one of the most joyful and well attended events on South Australia’s festive calendar. First held in 1944, it attracted an estimated crowd of 50,000, almost 10 percent of South Australia’s population at the time. Carols has grown to become a national television broadcast on Channel 7, boasting high-profile artists while still keeping the essence of the event that brings together family and friends to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and sing along to their favourite Christmas carols and songs.

SA families as well as social groups are encouraged to put 14 December in the diary as the time to dress in their best Christmas attire, pack a picnic rug, and come down to Elder Park to enjoy a free afternoon and evening of entertainment.

Gates open and the on-ground fun and food begins at 3.00pm. The City of Adelaide Pre Show will shine onstage from 5pm, the main concert commencing at 8.15pm, and all culminating in a spectacular fireworks show with over 15,000 expected in Elder Park/ Tarntanya Wama this year.

Adam and Amber will perform with the previously announced esteemed performers Dami Im, Emma Memma, Mark and Eva Seymour and SA’s own Hugh Sheridan.
