A ‘damning’ report by BIG W* reveals an ALARMING number of Aussie Mums are disappointed by their Mother’s Day gifts!
The report reveals that 41% of mums resort to buying their own gifts for Mother’s Day!?
And what’s even more alarming is the number of mums who feel disappointed with the gifts they receive. Findings show that 72% admit to feeling disappointed on Mother’s Day!
How can we do our bit to fix this? Self-professed ‘Mum Whisperer’ Emmylou MacCarthy, has stood up as the cheerleader for mums across the country.
Here’s what she suggests:
- Give mum a break this Mother’s Day and take control of the Mother’s Day celebrations. Treat her, or leave her to to a day of doing or touching up exactly what she wants!
- Turn Mother’s Day into a Mother’s Weekend. Create a spa at home gift pack filled with moisturiser, an eye mask, body scrub, nail polish, and a nice pair of PJs – everything she needs to relax and unwind.
- Have a go at handwritten notes. Write some cute gift notes for treats mum can ‘cash in’ on when she needs some pampering – a cup of tea with an afternoon treat, breakfast in bed, a foot rub, an evening off, an hour to watch her favourite TV shows uninterrupted or a weekend sleep-in.
And if these ideas still overwhelm you, here’s a list of ‘can’t go wrong gifts’ for mum this year; Chocolates, Beauty or pampering products, Homewares, Jewellery or some ‘Me time’ to spend how she wants!
