Home truths and Freudian quips
The Piglet (open-air) at Gluttony – Rymill Park

From a seed of an idea last year, SHRINK WRAPPED has arrived fully formed and ready to get you laughing at other people’s problems. While the concept is brilliantly simple – a literal psychologist literally analysing comedians based on their routines – it needs game participants to make it work.
Tonight we get exactly that.
Robyn Perkins is the perfect host. She’s warm and funny, and more than willing to laugh at herself. She sets us up, and hands over to Dr. Ruchi Sinha who adds a whole lot of sassy psychological professionalism to proceedings.
Our first set is from Ararat’s Ethan Cavanagh whose classic stand-up comedy style is super easy to enjoy. His relaxed vibe and clear comfort on stage suit the format perfectly.
All the way from Newcastle in England’s northeast, Raul Kohli brings a different kind of energy. He’s more upbeat and more vibes-driven, and his jokes land just as well.
Perkins delivers her own sharp set, and then we watch as Dr Sinha unpacks all we’ve heard and delivers her take on each of the performers. This is where it really takes off as banter flies, light-hearted jabs land, and it all threatens to dissolve into good natured chaos.
Some say laughter is the best therapy. SHRINK WRAPPED gives us both. Don’t miss it.
