Even without the added celebrations for his ’21st’, you know when you’re going to a Hans show, you’re in for a party… and this show doesn’t disappoint.
After emerging from a giant birthday cake, its 60 minutes of Hans (with his talented band “The Ungrateful Bastards” and his “Lucky Bastard” dancers) singing and dancing to everything from Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud” to The Sound Of Music’s “Edelweiss” to a big finish with “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again”, interspersed with some “tell-all interviews” with Hans & his mum (who has an uncanny resemblance to Hans) and the usual crowd interactions, which are normally the highlight… when he discovered a Karen from Elizabeth in the crowd, he thought all his 21sts had come at once!
What’s a good party without pass-the-parcel?… yes, you get that too!
I thought his One Direction gag about not going too close to the balcony was probably ‘too soon’ and the occasional sound issues were frustrating (although clearly not his fault and I’m assuming a once off), but you’re guaranteed to walk away from this show with a smile and you’ll probably start looking for an after-party!
