Is this the real life? Is this just a simulation? Either way it’s funny

Take the best parts of science and the best parts of comedy and you have Comedy for the Curious. The easy banter of comedians is combined with real science, to deliver an early evening gem.

Tonight’s topic was conspiracy theories. Rather than take the easy route and make fun of the most common theories and the people who believe them, Comedy for the Curious looks at why they gain traction in society.

Robyn Perkins is our host – having already brought us SHRINK WRAPPED this Fringe – and again her natural drive to share information with humour gives the show momentum. As a qualified marine biologist, she brings actual science chops, and her reality TV-based Excel spreadsheet is both super impressive and very funny.

Fellow comedian Andrew Silverwood joins with a sharp set (and some existential dread when the Simulation Theory comes up later) and SHRINK WRAPPED’s Dr. Ruchi Sinha also takes to the stage as the trio break down what conspiracy theories actually are, why they take root, and how we can deal with people who may believe them.

While consistently funny, the respect for science here is real. Comedy for the Curious is a good time, where learning is encouraged – and laughter is unavoidable.
