No sleep ‘til Gluttony
Gluttony – Rymill Park – The Peacock
Until March 23
3.5/5 STARS
By the end of the 360 ALLSTARS’ high-energy, hip-hop inspired performance they barely need to tell the audience to clap their hands and stomp their feet, because The Peacock is rocking. It may be 40 degrees outside, but the real heat is coming from the stage.
This is an afternoon heart starter, and the family crowd has picked a great show to get their Fringe started. Featuring performers from Australia, New Zealand and Japan, the 360 ALLSTARS have sold out venues around the world so a chance to see them at Gluttony is a treat.
The show starts slowly. The flow could be tweaked to get things moving faster and the crowd hyped a bit quicker. Once the pace picks up though, this is pure entertainment.
The freestyle basketball and BMX tricks are at times eye-popping, and the giant hoop is superb street circus. It’s the live soundtrack that elevates the show. Kids in the audience were captivated by the loops being created right in front of them, and the music allows the two award-winning B-Boys to show their incredible breakdancing skills.
360 ALLSTARS ends with all performers on stage trading tricks. The energy’s up, the crowd is up, and this is a show well worth catching.
