Blake Lively has expressed regret for her previous remarks regarding Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photograph, following the announcement of the royal’s cancer diagnosis.

In an Instagram Stories post on Friday, Lively, 36, addressed the issue, acknowledging her past insensitivity. “I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today,” she wrote. “I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always. ❤️.”

Last week, amid speculation surrounding Middleton’s absence following her January surgery, Lively had seemingly mocked the situation with a now-deleted Instagram post, hinting at digital manipulation in a photo announcing new products.

However, Middleton addressed the rumors on Friday, revealing her cancer diagnosis in a video message filmed by BBC Studios. She explained that despite initial beliefs that her condition was non-cancerous, subsequent tests revealed otherwise, leading her to undergo preventative chemotherapy.

The princess emphasized the shock of the diagnosis for herself and Prince William, expressing their commitment to managing the situation privately for the sake of their children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body, and spirit,” Middleton affirmed, urging for space, privacy, and hope for others battling cancer.
